My task this semester will evolve around ice and navigation. Therefore I felt that it was important for me to look at how sea ice is made, and how it behaves in the Arctic. In this presentation, I try to present my desktop-research regarding ice in a visual and understandable way.
A couple of weeks ago, we went to a field study on an icebreaker. An icebreaker is a vessel which main task is to assist other ships in ice-filled waters. It maybe to create open routes in the ice, convoy, or tow other vessels that are stuck.
